Buying a VPN for a year with USDT starts with two separate checks: the subscription price and the currencies available for that particular payment. A provider can accept cryptocurrency without accepting Tether, and an advertised monthly price can require a full year’s payment upfront.

For a USDT shortlist, hide.me explicitly lists Tether on its current pricing page. PureVPN names USDT in its official payment guide, although its current checkout uses different processor wording and the final coin selection still needs checking. Trust.Zone has an older announcement covering USDT; treat it as a candidate to verify, rather than a confirmed current USDT checkout.

Annual VPN plans: what you actually pay

Monthly equivalents below equal the full payment divided by the included months. They are not monthly instalments. USD, EUR and GBP prices remain in their original currencies; taxes and payment or network fees may increase the final bill. No payment invoice was generated for this comparison.

Trust.Zone’s EUR checkout showed €39.99 for the one-year plan after selecting “Cryptocurrencies → Other,” before any applicable tax. A separate USD version advertised US$39.99. These are regional prices, not currency conversions. The Bitcoin option showed a 10% discount, but that discount was absent from the “Other” selection; it has not been applied to the USDT comparison.

**Mullvad’s figure is calculated from €5 × 12, less its published 10% discount for supported cryptocurrencies. Its base price includes VAT. USDT is not among those currencies. Paying one month at a time carries the same base monthly rate. Mullvad pricing.

Surfshark’s figure is the GBP regional offer seen in its annual selector and order summary. It excludes VAT: the UK checkout displayed £39.42 after 20% VAT. It is not a USD conversion or a universal price.

VPN 101: what it does and how to choose

A virtual private network (VPN) sends selected internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel to a VPN server. Websites reached through that connection see the server’s public IP address. This can help on an untrusted Wi-Fi network or when you need a connection from another location. Access to a particular website or streaming service is not guaranteed.

1. Your device → 2. VPN server → 3. Website. The blue tunnel encrypts traffic between your device and the VPN server. HTTPS separately encrypts website traffic between your browser and the website. A VPN does not replace HTTPS, stop every form of tracking or make a crypto payment anonymous.

Personal VPN or business VPN?

A personal VPN routes browsing through a provider’s servers; these are the subscriptions compared here. A business VPN can connect employees to a private company network or link office networks. An app, a router configuration and a browser extension describe how you connect, not separate service types. Check which traffic each setup covers.

hide.me: USDT listed, with two extra months

hide.me’s US$54.99 offer provides 14 months of Premium access and 10 simultaneous connections. Its published price guarantee says the plan renews at the same price and duration. The equivalent cost is US$3.93 per month, but the full US$54.99 is due upfront.

Tether is explicitly listed among accepted currencies. The public pricing page does not identify the USDT network, so check the payment invoice before choosing a network in your wallet. The dollar price should not be treated as an exact 54.99-USDT invoice. hide.me: Plan and payment details.

PureVPN: a 12-month plan, with a crypto refund exclusion

PureVPN Standard was US$40.80 for 12 months in the annual plan selector. Its official guide names USDT as a payment option, and the live checkout displayed “Coinpayment.” Because the guide refers to CoinGate, confirm which coins and networks the current payment screen offers. The published renewal price for the annual Standard plan is US$57.95 before tax, which is US$17.15 more than the introductory bill. That is a renewal reference, not a promise that an on-chain USDT payment will renew automatically. The account supports up to 10 simultaneous connections. PureVPN’s payment guide claims crypto refunds are available, but its dedicated refund policy excludes Coinpayment, and its support table marks cryptocurrency as non-refundable. Do not rely on the general 31-day guarantee for a USDT order. PureVPN: Refund policy, PureVPN: payment-method exclusions.

Trust.Zone: verify USDT before choosing the annual plan

Trust.Zone announced USDT on TRC-20 and ERC-20 in October 2022. Its current one-year plan includes three simultaneous connections. During this check, the “Other” cryptocurrency option showed a non-recurring payment, but did not expose the final coin list before proceeding further.

Surfshark: crypto checkout with no automatic renewal

Surfshark belongs in a broader crypto VPN comparison. The annual Starter offer shown in the GBP version was £32.85 for 15 months, or £2.19 per month before tax, with unlimited simultaneous devices. The UK order summary added £6.57 VAT for a £39.42 total. Current plans.

Selecting “Cryptocurrency” in the order form displayed an explicit notice that this payment method does not support recurring payments. The service will not renew automatically through that provider. USDT and its networks were not exposed before the purchase step, so they remain unverified. For an eligible crypto refund, Surfshark’s terms specify a refund in the same cryptocurrency based on the USD equivalent and the exchange rate at refund time. The initial-purchase guarantee is 30 days, with exclusions for certain products and purchase channels. Surfshark: Refund terms.

Neither provider lists USDT in the payment information checked for this comparison. They belong on a broader crypto shortlist, rather than a confirmed USDT shortlist.

Refunds: check the payment-specific rules

Before you pay for a year with USDT

Select the annual plan and read the total charge, included months and renewal terms. At the payment step, choose USDT only if it is offered for your order. Match the invoice network exactly to the sending network in your wallet or exchange, and use the invoice amount rather than copying the dollar price from a comparison table.

Allow for withdrawal and network fees, check any invoice expiry time, and retain the invoice and transaction ID. A dollar-denominated plan price does not establish the exact number of USDT that the payment processor will request.

For the clearest public USDT evidence in this comparison, start with hide.me. PureVPN has a lower initial USD payment, but its crypto refund exclusion and payment-guide mismatch deserve attention before purchase. Trust.Zone requires another check at the coin-selection stage.
