World Launches Global Money App as Column, Keeper and MetaMask Expand Payment Tools

Payment apps, banking platforms and wallets are adding the routes that move an onchain balance into a usable payment.

The latest payment launches focus on the parts of crypto that customers and businesses use before a purchase is complete. World is rolling out a self-custody money app with account funding through Stripe and cross-border transfers. Column is putting instant dollar-stablecoin conversion, global accounts and card issuing behind one integration for fintechs. Keeper is turning a TON-native wallet into a multichain product, while MetaMask is adding a safeguard that checks whether a transaction does what its preview promised. Circle has opened a payment-oriented network with USDC as its gas asset, and X is linking public asset discussions to partner brokerages. The products serve different users, yet they all reduce a familiar gap: holding crypto is one task; moving it safely into a payment, card, account or trade is another. That is the product decision facing firms that want to accept crypto payments as a merchant.

World Launches Money in More Than 150 Countries and Connects Account Funding to Stripe

World began rolling out World Money in more than 150 countries, combining self-custody balances, stablecoin transfers, virtual accounts and Stripe funding in one app. Its launch announcement says users can hold supported dollar and local-currency stablecoins, send digital assets to a World username and access services such as Morpho and Kalshi where available. The service therefore competes for the same everyday role as established crypto wallets.

The important product choice is the entry point. A user can fund an account through a familiar card or bank-facing route, then use a crypto balance for transfers or other supported functions. Country availability and eligibility still vary, so the launch does not create one uniform payment service worldwide. It does put several steps that normally sit across separate apps into one wallet. People comparing products that let them pay with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can now assess the funding, custody and transfer rules together rather than treating the token balance as the whole service.

Column Adds Instant USDC and USDT Conversion, Global Accounts and Card Issuing for Fintechs

Column released four products that connect stablecoin conversion, card issuing, accounts and payment rails through its banking platform. In its product announcement, the company said USDC and USDT can move instantly and around the clock between dollars and underlying payment rails. It also introduced its own card-issuer processor and tools for issuing accounts and cards to verified customers internationally.

This is infrastructure for fintech businesses, not a consumer card launch. A company that wants to provide a card program or multicurrency account can work through one provider for banking, processing and capital rather than joining each layer separately. The stablecoin feature matters because conversion and settlement sit beside traditional account functions. That makes it easier for a fintech to decide where stablecoin balances fit inside an existing product. Businesses building checkout or settlement flows can compare the result with established crypto payment gateways before choosing a route.

Keeper Renames Its Wallet and Adds Six Networks Beyond TON

Tonkeeper renamed itself Keeper and expanded from a TON-focused wallet to support seven networks: TON, Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Base. The Keeper product page describes the product as self-custodial, while its announcement says existing accounts and recovery phrases stay in place. The wallet also offers cross-chain swaps and a Battery feature that covers specified network fees on TON and TRON. Its multichain scope gives users another route toward Bitcoin payments.

The rebrand changes the practical job of the app. Someone who held assets in a TON wallet can now manage several major networks without changing to a new custody model for each one. That does not make every asset or feature available on every chain, and users still need to check token, network and swap terms before sending funds. Yet it makes one wallet a more useful starting point for transfers and spending. The expansion is relevant to people choosing crypto wallets that need to handle more than one chain without giving up control of their keys.

MetaMask Adds Transaction Protection and Stops a Mismatched Payment Before It Executes

MetaMask introduced Added Protection, a feature designed to stop a transaction when its completed result differs from the preview shown to the user. In its security announcement, MetaMask explains that a malicious contract can show a harmless simulated result before executing a different action. The new feature makes the transaction revert if the outcome no longer matches the preview. It gives developers of blockchain services a clearer control to consider when they design wallet flows.

The change addresses a weak point in wallet-based payments: a clear-looking confirmation screen does not help if the underlying contract can change the result after approval. MetaMask says the user remains in control, but a mismatched transaction fails before assets leave the wallet. The feature does not replace basic checks of a site, address, token or spending permission. It adds a second line of defence for users who interact with dapps and payment requests. That distinction matters whenever a self-custody balance is used at checkout instead of through a traditional card network.

Circle Opens Arc Mainnet and Uses USDC for Network Fees and Financial Settlement

Circle launched the public mainnet of Arc, a Layer 1 network built for financial markets and real-time money movement. Circle said that Arc started with more than 100 ecosystem and institutional builders, a founding validator group from financial firms and native integration with its platform. USDC serves as the network's gas asset.

Using a dollar stablecoin for fees makes the payment path easier to price than a network whose fee token moves independently from the transaction amount. Arc still has to prove that its institutional integrations turn into recurring settlement and payment activity. Its launch does, however, provide a common rail for wallets, custodians, payment firms and financial institutions that want to connect to USDC-based flows. Companies that already use USDC can watch whether the network creates practical options for payouts, treasury movement and merchant settlement.

X Adds a Trade Route to Cashtags Through Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini

X launched its U.S. Cashtag Partner Program with brokerage partners including Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini. The feature gives people a route from a stock, ETF or cryptocurrency discussion to an eligible partner's trading service. The action occurs at the brokerage, not inside an X wallet, and access depends on the partner and the user's jurisdiction. It is another distribution route for crypto finance services.

The change shortens the path between discovery and a regulated trading interface. It does not turn a social post into an investment recommendation or remove the account checks, fees and market risks that come with trading. For crypto platforms, the relevant point is distribution: a financial service can appear at the moment an asset is being discussed, then hand the user to a provider that handles the account and transaction. That same handoff problem appears when crypto cards or merchant services connect an onchain balance to an ordinary payment experience.
