Topping D90LE Desktop Digital to Analog Convertor (DAC) - Open Box

The Topping D90LE is a high-end DAC, benefiting from an intelligent and careful design for high performance. It features an ESS ES9038Pro conversion chip, an XMOS interface and an Altera Max II CPLD. The D90LE is also versatile, with a complete connectivity and an integrated Bluetooth receiver.

ES9038Pro DAC
The D90LE features an ESS Sabre ES9038Pro DAC chip, using the 32-bit HyperStream architecture to achieve an extremely high level of performance for incredibly accurate and transparent sound reproduction.
The D90LE performs independent I/V (current/voltage) conversion for the 8 channels of the ES9038Pro and then connects them in parallel. This technique allows for an ever increasing level of performance.






Bluetooth 5.0
Equipped with a Qualcomm CSR8675 chip, the D90LE offers Bluetooth 5.0 reception, convenient for remote music streaming directly from your smartphone. In addition, this chip supports the codecs aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL and LDAC, allowing to achieve a high quality sound in wireless.






XMOS XU216
The USB input of the D90LE uses a 2nd generation XMOS XU2013 16-core chip. This chip supports high sampling rates, up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512, as well as MQA. This chip is associated with a custom Thesycon driver.



Full connectivity
The D90LE benefits from a complete range of connectivity to adapt to all systems. We can find AES, USB-B, Optical, Coaxial, I2S LVDS via HDMI as well as Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. For its outputs, the D90LE offers single-ended RCA and balanced XLR.
 


Switchable output
The D90LE offers a selectable output system. The audio stream can be routed to the XLR output, the RCA output or both. Moreover, it also allows to choose an output level. Thus, the XLR output can work in 4V or 5V and the RCA output in 2V or 2.5V.


Preamplifier function
In addition to the DAC mode with a fixed output level, the D90LE offers a DAC + preamplifier mode. In this mode, you can control the volume level. Thus, the D90LE can be directly associated with a power amplifier or active speakers.




CPLD Alter Max II
The Topping D90LE uses an Altera Max II CPLD to process the clock signal and thus optimize the quality of digital signals, significantly reducing jitter.
