Square now lets eligible sellers accept Bitcoin at checkout directly in Square POS, with instant Lightning payments and the option to settle in BTC or USD. Bitcoin processing fees are 0% through 2026, then 1% starting 2027; Bitcoin Conversions (auto-convert a % of card sales to BTC) carry a 1% conversion fee (or 0.5% on Premium). Sellers can enable Bitcoin in Dashboard/Point of Sale and present a Lightning invoice QR that customers pay with Cash App or any Lightning-enabled wallet. Square also supports auto-converting daily card/Cash App Pay/Invoice sales into BTC (up to 50%). Funds appear almost instantly in Dashboard; refunds on Bitcoin payments are handled via Square e-gift cards. Feature availability and limits (e.g., $600 per Bitcoin transaction) apply. Overall, Bitcoin is now a native tender alongside cards and Cash App in the Square ecosystem.
