Unfair arbitration! They reward half-done work and leave clients with useless files.
I am completely disgusted by how this platform treats its clients. I opened a contract for website updates and a new template. Due to an arbitration dispute, the platform's support decided to close the case in the freelancer's favor in a completely one-sided manner. They took my frozen escrow funds and handed them over to the developer against my clear refusal.
The freelancer simply dropped a ZIP archive with the template files into the chat and completely ignored my messages. He refused to transfer the template to the live website (production) or test it. The platform's support practically told me "go away," claiming that if deploying to production wasn't explicitly spelled out step-by-step, the freelancer isn't obligated to do it.
Are you serious? Any professional web development implies that the work is finished when it is up and running on the client’s website, not when you dump a bunch of raw code in a ZIP file and walk away. As a non-programmer, this archive is completely useless to me.
Because of this ridiculous and biased arbitration, I now have to spend more time, hire another developer, and pay extra money just to test this archive on a staging environment and safely deploy it. If the code turns out to be broken or full of bugs, I will lose even more money.
What is the point of your "secure escrow" and the high fees you charge clients if your support completely ignores common sense and protects lazy, unprofessional freelancers? You literally allowed them to take my money for an unfinished product. Absolute disgrace. I will be initiating a chargeback through my bank and will never use this platform again.
