The Light Series
The inspiration for the Light Series stems from Pink Floyd's legendary 1973 album, The Dark Side of the Moon. That iconic cover redefined the relationship between sound and human emotion through a simple triangular prism: a single ray of pure, pristine white light enters, refracts, and transforms into a spectrum of vivid colors. Lumira represents the incidental beam of pure white light: pristine, clean, and unadulterated before entering the prism.
Lumira
Ice Lab's design core focused on three pillars: high penetration, infinite scaling potential, and an organically alive sound signature. The dynamic driver serves as the foundation to achieve a natural, organic note decay with low-distortion scalability. This organic presentation is paired with dual micro-planars to deliver an expansive soundstage and effortless high-penetration air.
Unlike conventional entry-level IEMs, Lumira utilizes a flagship-grade dynamic driver coupled with an exponential impedance profile. When paired with high-tier sources and amplification, Lumira's sonic performance scales dramatically.
Multi-Array Magnetic System
The dynamic driver incorporates a multi-array magnetic layout featuring varied shapes and magnetic fluxes. The outer magnetic circuit utilizes high-performance magnets to bolster low-frequency density and sub-bass depth. The coaxial core uses a dual-layer magnetic structure with varying strengths, enriching midrange vocal textures while preserving a liquid, natural tone.
Composite Diaphragm Architecture
The main diaphragm utilizes a Biaxially Oriented Polyurethane Terephthalate surround paired with a composite metal dome. The BOPET surround balances light weight with structural damping, suppressing breakup distortion and maintaining under 0.5% THD in the ultra-low frequencies. The Physical Vapor Deposition coats chromium and titanium onto both sides, neutralizing upper-mid harshness. This produces lush vocals and airy highs.
Quad Rear Chamber
To ensure a clean sonic background, Lumira features three internal driver cavities enclosed within an outer CNC aluminum housing, forming a quad rear chamber system. The first cavity restricts driver excursion to eliminate dynamic distortion and bass crackling. The second introduces controlled high-frequency resonance to enhance airiness and upper harmonics. The third integrates a low-density diffusion plate to focus midrange clarity and tighten low-end impact. The outer shell provides a rigid acoustic foundation that further suppresses unwanted shell resonances.
Additional Technologies
Dual-Horn Physical Acoustic AmplificationBy leveraging physical horn geometry, high-frequency extensions are naturally elongated without harshness, creating a smooth frequency response and a realistic 3D soundstage.
Crossover ArchitectureThe full-range dynamic driver delivers a cohesive, organic tonal foundation, while the dual micro-planars manage upper treble detail and extension.
Ductless Large Cavity Acoustic CouplerLumira introduces the DLAC front chamber structure. By coupling sound immediately at the driver outlet rather than through a narrow tube nozzle, DLAC increases internal air volume, expanding soundstage width.
Semi-Open Rear Acoustic ChamberLumira adopts a semi-open rear chamber equipped with specialized acoustic damping media. This design expands the overall soundstage scale and dissipates internal standing waves for ultra-black background.
Precision Crossover Components
The crossover network features imported US Vishay wafer resistors to maintain pristine signal accuracy, paired with high-precision AVX tantalum capacitors to stabilize electrical impedance and refine overall tonal purity.
