Did you ever have someone randomly drop a never-before-heard-of streamer on your desk to check out, open and set it up blindly ignoring the manual, find it to be one of the simplest streamer setup processes you’ve ever had, and then listen to it expecting a $2000 or higher price tag only to find it’s less than $900, resulting in reverse sticker-shock?
Yeah, me neither… until the EverSolo DMP-A6.
Initial setup for a streamer is typically the most painful with an inevitable snafu requiring you to start over. With DMP-A6, the setup was akin to connecting a tablet to the WiFi, and within 2 minutes, I was listening to music. Using the app was similarly uncomplicated and painless, but feel free to skip it and stream with AirPlay, Roon, or DLNA, or connect directly through TIDAL, Amazon Music, Spotify, Qobuz, etc. In stride, the available input and outputs consist of an army of both digital and analog options with almost every currently available connection possible. As with most streamers we’ve used, network streaming was optimal with ethernet connection to the LAN.
The DMP-A6 has become the Bloom “office jukebox” where we all take turns sending over our favorite tracks from Qobuz to a pair of Canton Smart Townus 8 loudspeakers hooked up to the EverSolo. As a DAC, it demonstrates a solid reference tuning with presentation of detail and imaging comparable with other popular DAC options in its price range. This.Thing.Rules.
