We are on a mission to:

make electronics accessible and attractive
spread knowledge, fun, and ideas
Supported by the Raspberry Pi community, as well as the wider Maker community, we’re trying to bring electronics to a larger audience. It’s been a busy few years for us…

A brief history
We’ve grown from just one laser cutter and a kettle, to over 30 people, five laser cutters, and several circuit building robots in a larger factory over the past four years.

Pibow was our first product, and a runaway success. It’s a fun but practical case for the Raspberry Pi, in a range of colours. We’ve now sold over 175,000 of them!

Our Picade desktop arcade machine, that you build yourself from a flat-pack kit, was the UK’s first Kickstarter project. After Picade’s unexpected success, it’s now one of our biggest-selling and most popular products. Everyone loves it.

Our second Kickstarter was Flotilla, a set of colourful, fun, useful modules that you can connect to a computer to sense and react to the world around you. It’s aimed at families and kids and, because it’s plug and play, it’s incredibly easy to use.

Made in the UK
Pimoroni are proud to be part of the manufacturing heritage in Sheffield, in the north of the UK. As well as the vibrant creative and digital scene that’s developed in the city, it’s an excellent city to live in. We manufacture all of our own products. Our circuit boards are produced by Ragworm in Rochester and Portsmouth and, where possible, we source locally (our Picade panels are powder-coated just down the road from us!)

Our name
Pimoroni stands for Pirate, Monkey, Robot, Ninja (Pi-Mo-Ro-Ni) and sounds like the name of an expensive Italian lager. It’s pronounced Pih-mo-row-knee. You’ll see the pirate (and his friends) pop up throughout our branding.
